Zhu Wenbo, Zhao Cong, Jun-Y Ciao and Matthias Kaiser: One language, different phrasing

The main focus of this year's Moers Festival, an annual jazz festival in the city of Moers in Germany, was on China. Beyond having Chinese artists residing in Germany, musicians based in China were also invited for the event. Roberto Beseler Maxwell met with experimental musicians Zhu Wenbo and Zhao Cong, who live in China, as well as local artists Jun-Y Ciao and Matthias Kaiser, in an old sports hall on the festival grounds for a roundtable discussion about aesthetic differences, learning from each other, and the importance of silence.
